  • Step #1: Want to capture a small section? Just press Shift + Command + 4. It will make your cursor a crosshair.
  • Step #2: Decide Which part you want to screenshot. Then, pull your crosshair to the area you wish to cut release your mouse or trackpad. It will save to your desktop.
  • Step #3: If you want to move your selected image, press and hold the Spacebar (big key) when you drag the image.

  • Step #1: If you already opened a menu or a window to take a screenshot, press and hold Shift + Command + 4 + Spacebar.
  • Step #2: The cursor is transformed into a small camera icon then, drag to the window to capture it now. You can see a blue overlay on the selected window or menu then, click on it and wait some moments. It will automatically save on your desktop as a png.
  • Step #3: Want to cancel saving the selected window or menu? Click the Esc top left corner of your mac.
  • Step #4: Again wanted to make some changes or add changes to your screenshot. When you save it, it will appear right below your desktop screen. Just click on it to edit.

This Screenshot toolbar is a valuable tool because it has all the features to screenshot and record your screen. It has two icons for image screenshots and the other two for recording your screen. It is a pack of all the screenshot tools at one bar.

  • Step #2: Press Shift + Command + 5, then you will see a menu with a list of features to screenshot and record your screen.

1. Capture the entire screen

If you want to capture the whole screen, click on the left corner icon on the toolbar and then click capture on the right corner of your toolbar.

2. Capture selected window

on the left side of your toolbar, click on the 2nd icon. It will change to a camera icon then, move on to which window you want to take a screenshot of and click capture.

3. Capture selected section

click on the third icon of the toolbar. It will change to a crosshair. Then, press right-click on the mouse and drag on the screen portion you want to cut and release. After that, click capture, and the screenshot will save it.

4. Record full screen

It is also the same thing. Just click on the fourth icon to record your entire screen, and this time, the capture option becomes the record option click on it.

5. Record Selected area

Like the full recording screen, click on the 5th icon, your cursor changes to a crosshair drag. Which part you want to record, release your mouse and click on record, and it's started recording your provided portion.

6. Options for more settings

You can use these various icons to capture and record your screen. Through options, you can choose where you want to save your Screenshots and recordings. On the Save to the menu, by default, it is checked to desktop. You can also Select Documents, Downloads, Clipboards, Mail, Messages, Preview, and Your Desired location.

You can set a timer to take shots or Ignore it. But, one issue here, if you take a screenshot, it will float on the screen. Some people find it annoying so, if you want to save it immediately without floating them, click on the options icon > show floating thumbnail > turn it off. Now your screenshot directly saves without floating. Some other settings through which you can take advantage of it.

If you want to send screenshots directly by email, click on the options icon. You see an option click on the mail and go back to the screen. Now, press shift + command + 3, and your screenshot is done, And it will ready to be sent through email.

  1. Firstly, click on spotlight search or finder.
  2. Type Grab in the search bar and click on it.

  4. Use the grab icon for the screenshot.
